9: Large Ensembles - Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Campus Band, Symphony Orchestra, Campus Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Band, Campus Jazz Band, and Low Brass Choir. No shortage of performing opportunities.

7: UWSP and Stevens Point—A great size university with around nine-thousand students and the best student to faculty ratio (22:1) in the UW system. Stevens Point is great university town with lots of culture and activities (when students aren’t studying/practicing)

6: Guest Artists: The low brass studio has hosted many phenomenal artists including: jazz trombone legend Conrad Herwig; Ronald Barron, retired trombonist with the Boston Symphony, and tubist Mark Nelson, to name a few.

5: UWSP Low Brass Club: Our Student Government organization funds trips, instruments, concert tickets, and masterclasses.

4: Tuba Christmas! A yearly event that attracts 75-90 tuba and euphonium players of all ages come to campus to play Christmas carols and share their love of low brass.

3: The NFAC, our Noel Fine Arts Center is an amazing facility with top-notch rehearsal, performance and practice spaces.

2: Degree options: Bachelor of Music- Music Education, Performance, Jazz Studies, Music Literature. Bachelor of Arts – Music. Emphasis available in: Composition, Music Therapy, and Music Technology. Master of Music, Studio Pedagogy, and Music Education.

1: World-class faculty. Most of our faculty members (including Dr. Lawrence) are full time, who are on campus daily.
