Alumni Profile -- James Kuzmic

James Kuzmic hails from Allenton Wisconsin and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and currently attends school as a graduate employee at the University of Oregon in Multiple Brass Performance. James currently holds the position as Principal Tuba of Orchestra Next, and regularly subs with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, on both tuba and bass trombone. As an active freelancer, James performs regularly with wind ensembles, jazz ensembles, orchestras, pit orchestras, chamber ensembles, and as a soloist. Composition is also an area of interest, James has conducted the premieres of several works with the UWSP Wind Symphony, Brass Ensemble, UWSP Campus Band, and the Wausau Symphonic Band. James' love for music also stretches to his teaching, James is commonly asked to give masterclasses at various high schools, middle schools, and at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
